What is faith? It’s more than just information. It’s life. It can be easy to go to Church on Sunday to check the box and then move on with the rest of your life. But Jesus calls us to live out our faith in all that we do. So, how do you take what you hear on Sunday and live it out in your family and in your community? Through reflection and practice. At PewTalk Podcast, we reflect on the past weekend’s sermon at Trinity Fremont and give practical starting points to live out your faith in your family and in your community.

The gospels call us to die to ourselves so that we can live for Jesus. The epistles show us what living for Jesus looks like. We are called to be different. Jesus and Paul encourage us to get used to different. How is your family different?
But it’s not just about being different to be different. We are called to be different for Jesus. So that others might see us and wonder why we have the hope that we have.

The gospels. The Gospel. What are they and what do they teach us? How do we live them out in our homes? How do we teach them to our children?
“Jesus came to die and our life, our hope, our meaning, our purpose, our identity, is found in dying with him.”
The Bible story book that Stacy mentioned is Max Lucado's God Always Keeps His Promises: Unshakable Hope for Kids which can be found here: https://bit.ly/3kPLd9I (not an affiliate link ;) )

This week, as we continue our Binge Reading the Bible Series, we turn to the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
The gospels teach us the Gospel! Why do we need anything else? Why do we need the Old Testament or the Epistles? Because the message of Jesus is terribly incomplete without the backstory.

Prayers (from Concordia Publishing House’s Pastoral Care Companion):
O most loving Father, You want us to give thanks for all things, to fear nothing except losing You, and to lay all our cares on You, knowing that You care for us. Strengthen _name_ in _his/her_ faith in You. Grant that the fears and anxieties of this mortal life may not separate _him/her_ from Your love shown to us in Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Lord Jesus Christ, You commanded the wind and the waves, and they obeyed You. Speak peace to _name_, who is troubled by fear. By the power of Your Word, calm _his/her_ anxious heart and the raging storms in _his/her_ spirit; for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Welp. Technology is great when it works, but when it doesn't... It doesn't. This week, our podcast file simply didn't work. So, instead Pastor Gerber takes a few minutes to recap what we talked about as we are reminded that God is always faithful. We see that in the historical books of the Bible. And we see that in our own histories.
