After learning to sit and to walk, we now stand against the enemy. We stand on ground that has already been won. We do not battle the enemy FOR victory, but FROM a victory that has already been won. So we put on the full armor of God and stand.

Our position in Christ should always lead to our life in the world. Sitting should always lead to Walking. But even that Walking is powered through our Sitting. We sit forever with Christ so that we can walk continuously before men.

It is so natural to us to strive for everything. There's a desire built into us to earn everything around us. But Christianity begins with a big DONE, not a big DO. We are called to Sit in His promises.

We all will experience suffering in our lives.  There are sicknesses, deaths, pressures, anxieties and challenges of this world.  Through it all, the Apostle Paul reassures us that with Jesus in our lives, we will not be crushed; we will not be driven to despair; we will not be destroyed and we will not be forsaken. GODLY DEFIANCE will see us through.

What an inheritance we have received and will continue to receive.  We are heirs of God and heirs with Christ.  We are promised an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled and unfading.  It's kept in heaven for us.  Thank you Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Amen.

The promise that Jesus gave his disciples on the day He ascended into heaven becomes a reality 10 days later.  What a story it was.  What a story it is.  A lot of speaking was going on that day, 50 days after Jesus rose from the dead to defeat sin, death and Satan forever.  Nothing tops what Peter said that day in the languages of so many nations who had gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate their own Jewish celebration of Pentecost.  "Jesus Christ is Lord!!"

Testimony of John

John wants us to know one thing and to know it really well: God gives us eternal life. And, as we emphasize a different word in that phrase we see something unique and beautiful.

The 3 C's

We continue the series of 1st John on the 6th Sunday after Easter.  John has a message for those living in the world.   It's the 3 C's.  Be cautious, be confident and be compassionate.  Cautious because until Jesus returns, Satan is alive and well.  Sin is lurking behind the corner.   Confident because Jesus has already overcome the world.  Compassionate because it is what Jesus has commanded us, to love one another as He has loved us.

Since God loved us in such a way as to send His Son Jesus to be the propitiation for our sins, so then, we ought to love one another. Since God loved you in such an incredible way, how will you love others in order that they might see Jesus through you?
